A drifter over here in Aus, Beau Yates has a 3sge beams engine in an ae86. I know its not quite the same, but the 86 doesn't have that much more room 
From memory they had to cut up the firewall a bit to get it in there though.

nite B's drifter was in NZPC a while back, lime green AE86 with 3SGE. dont think they had any decent shots of the engine bay though from memory!

he was actually selling that engine a while back, though it was pretty sharply priced - probly gone by now.
