Are they all the same ? between facelist and pre facelift ?

Obviously there is different ratios and LSD/Not LCD.

no, facelift diff takes slightly larger diameter axles.

the measurements are on the forums somewhere if you do a search, i asked a similar question a while back

for what its worth, when i asked revhead about it facelift axles were still available brand spankers from toyota for a pretty reasonable price.

I recognise that the axles are different. Let me explain further, i need a dif head to fit a brand new LSD which i'll purchase. The LSD is likely to be the facelift version, taking the facelift axles. Its for competition use, this why i want new, and also the stronger units.

So back to the original question, putting aside the LSD unit which i assume the axles slide directly into, is the Diff head the same between pre and post facelift? I seem to remember someone saying there was two different bolt# versions, and one was stronger. But i might be talking rubbish, and getting confused.

ah i see what you are saying. when you say diff head most people think you are referring to the actual LSD itself, when you are actually meaning the carrier.

to the best of my knowledge, the carriers are all the same.

What do they go for ?

not really too sure - cant recall ever seeing one for sale without a diff in it.

that being said, open T series diffs are probably around the $100 - $150 mark. centre probably still worth a bit to someone to turn into a locker once you have your LSD in place too.

to me the carrier is the part the crown wheel bolts onto with the spider gears or lsd inside. the head is the complete unit that bolts into the diff housing.
there are variations to the diff head casting. some have a longer stud, usually for the taller ratios like 3.9:1. but swap the longer stud with the head and it'll swap across.

how much are they?
can get 4.55 or 4.77 ratio out of front diff of a 4wd cr30 townace/masterace van. the chassis code will say F252 or F253 for the 4.55 and F362 for 4.77
