Well clearly it's not a performance car, but I was thinkng manual might be a little bit more interesting than an auto... maybe not?

its a cool cruiser and fun in its own right, quite ummm nippy till bout 100, then u feel the slowness of its 1.3 or 1.5 or whatever ive driven the auto, not a problem with it, except it is a bit too keen to shift down, but that could be due to the small engine/my right foot characteristics. ive sat ina manual and played with the gears, havnt driven one on the street, so im a wee bit biased. who cares, the glowing speaker surrounds are cool! :P

Sister's bf has a runx, so don't want to copy him. Persuing a swift, but they're a bit new still and may drop in price rather sharply in the next 12 months...

Read some car reviews on autospeed for ideas, suzuki ignis sport springs to mind for a unique modern fun to drive small car.
We've just bought a Civic RS and love it, looks great and does 6L/100Km plenty of power, stylish black interior, good handling and haven't seen another one like it in Auckland which is rare!

For a similar price why not look at an E46 BMW 3 Series?

As for the Swift my friend did a trip to Kaitaia last week and got 18.15 KM/L which is just nuts. He wasn't driving like a nana either.
