Congtatulations Barry!!

Postby 20v_rollaboy » Sat Nov 01, 2008 8:57 pm

I went down to Taupo today to watch SuperLap, awesome days racing, lots of fast cars.

Top 3 cars in the top 10 shootout were Toyota's. A ae85 Levin, A mkIV Supra and Barry's Levin.

I don't know the specific times, but Barry Won :!: :!: Big Congrats man.

I will upload some pics in the next couple days.

Congrats on the win Barry, well deserved. Car looked amazing.

Was a good day, we stayed right to the prize giving, freezing our tits off the entire time. Awesome to see you sticking it to the 4wd competition :D

I was wondering if you had broken something important at one point, was popping some pretty decent clouds of soot and looked a lot like oil smoke when you were coming through pit lane.

awesome day!
did not expect to win over all lol
did not expect to beat the evos etc.
The car felt like it didnt handle very well, but somehow it was enough!

The smoke, yea turbo seals are getting bit old now, need to change them.
Oh and it back fires occasionally between gear changes.

1.16.89 was my time for the top ten shoot out.

Vids coming soon just doing them now

Info on the day..
EVO88U cracked an oil pump and it was sucking in air (this happened at practice so he didnt get to do a superlap).
FSTFUL AE86 Super GT car was insanly fast and was going sideways lots he managed a 1.15.XX this was in the unlimited class so was not counted towards the actual superlap, another supra was there that Johno Lester drove and he did a 1.16.4 (actual owner was much slower) also in the unlimited class.
The RX7s were having traction issues so didnt go that well..
A honda civic from SS2000 was doing 1.17.7s! insanly fast for the car.
Dirk in his orange Evo and Ian is 6FIEND were giving me a hurry up! our times were only split by around 0.3s difference!
Al in his Charade was going very well.
umm thats about it from me..

Fastest time in unlimited was the 3sgte ae86 super gt car 1.15.xx

Unlimited class isnt included in the actual superlap, they say its for demonstration lol.

Scott def would of taken the round out again no question about it.
But I was stoked to be faster than alot of race cars out there.

I wasnt running high power! i tried to use 20psi in the first practice but it just wheel spun every where. I turned it down to 15psi and seemed pretty good there so left it like that for the rest of the day.

a win is a win, if your car survived the day with the best time then it counts  theres no points for almost finishing or would have been faster, could have easily been you with a blown engine or box etc

your setup seems to be pretty reliable now Barry , good stuff.
