What is a 94 FXGT worth?

Postby loudsir » Tue Dec 09, 2008 8:38 pm

Mate of mine has a black 94 corolla FXGT, 169,000kms, manual, silvertop, all completely standard and in good condition for age. Wants to list it as a classified ad on trademe - how much do you think he should put on it?

Cheers - Patrick.

if its as good as you say then $3000 is probably not out of the question.

AE101 FXGT's seem to hold their value much better than the Levin/Trueno, so if its mint then you could quite likely get $4k for it.
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

You can change your price on a classified trademe ad, so start off slightly high, BUT do really good wording in the ad, groom the hell out of the car, and take a lot of really good photo's. Then if it doesn't sell, drop the price a bit.

The 101 FXGT's do seem to have held value incredibly well.

However, car selling market is dead as a dodo now, so be prepared to sit on the car for four months if nobody is in the market :(

I paid $5K for mine 6 months ago.

I check trademe often.. most seem to go for anywhere around $3k to $5k.. I've also noticed that the majority of them have over 200,000kms but still fetch good money! They do seem to be quite sought after.. $5k is probably on the steep side, but I wanted a mint, original one, and thats' exactly what I got.

So yeah, if its' pretty tidy.. I'd start at $4500 at least, might take a bit of time to sell, but I had plenty of interest in mine at $4800.
