well my turbo is not liking me, and i would like to know where i can get a genuine garrett or the likes at a really good price, mine is a chinese type t3/t04e 57trim, we all know the ones, and it's been absolutely mint until my motor ran the bearing which in turn has stuffed my turbo as well.

it spools great and makes the power, but if i'm going to spend 1k on a masterpower turbo, what are my comparisons in the garretts etc. otherwise i might just get one like i have now.

Have you tried Warren @ Pulse in Wangas? Not 100% sure if he deals in Garrett but wiould be woth a shot.

Yea the exchange rate ain't so flash at the moment. Back then the GT2871R worked out to be $1600NZD right to my door.

Still beats buying from trademe tho worrying about if it's legit or not.

Yeah I bought from ATPTurbo when the exchange rate was much more favourable, at the moment its just not the greatest time to do so - Masterpower turbo might be the best option if you can get a reasonable price on one. Could be worth seeing if Alltech or anyone like that can bring in plain bearing Garrett turbos, ATPTurbo do genuine Garrett T3/T4s for under $700US.

yeah, to be honest i didn't realise how bad the exchange rate was until i worked it out on a few options

so going with a masterpower t-56 turbo from bazz.
