AMI allows monthly as well. Probably just a deterent to insuring through them. They are possibly trying to avoid being seen as a tough insurer. Just speculation.

You could try NZI, they cut me a really sharp deal with the Trueno, though you're under 25 still eh Phil?
Or try a broker, it doesnt cost anything and they hunt around a few places for you.

MUHAHAHAHA Turned 25 last week.

Insurance on my Manual, Caldina GTT dropped big time.
Premium: $90 per month ($1080p.a.) went down to $61 per month ($732).
Excess: $1,000 went down to $250.

Still a rip though. Why we don't have compulsary 3rd party insurance in this country I don't know? (I hate subsiding those !@#*$ free-loaders that don't bother with insurance).

Back on topic; I've heard good things about pioneer insurance (brokers).

Never had issues with AMI (only 1 minor claim). Been with them since I was 19 & state refused to insure my 1.8L Mazda Familia Infini. Always had agreed value - just had to get my car valued by a car dealer (i.e. number plate, description & price written on the back of a business card - thank you Henderson Toyota).

My Curren's insured with FMG, not entirely sure on my excess and the like since i got my full its probably changed a little. Anyway, no trouble insuring the 2.0 litre beastie at all, yet earlier last year when i had asked them for a quote to insure a 1997 1600cc bzg trueno, they point blank refused, claiming that the engine(4AGE,non quad throttle) was too high performance for someone my age. And ive got no outstanding fines, never had an accident etc. Yet AA and AMI had no problem offering me quotes.

Im in the process of selling the curren now, and am looking at a 99 Altezza, im calling up a number of places and trying for quotes, ive been told NAC are alright.

Try Barstow insurance brokers in town here, very good to deal with.

If you are having trouble with othe rincurance companies, and NAC are looking like your friend, try Clic, they insure most like NAC and are so much better to deal with and better priced.

Lol last comment on this thread was Mon Nov 10 08 before today (or was that yesterday? Damn night shift!)

Anyway - Insured my 7M-GTE with NZI. $498 a year, $300 excess or $0 excess on theft or windscreen/lights breakage for agreed value of $8000.

So could try them out. They were heaps better deal than State, and leaps and bounds better than NAC/Clic etc. Could have been my being over 25 and having an immaculate driving record (years driving: 10, speeding tickets: 0) but I'd recommend giving them a call if you're in the market for new insurance deal.
