i'm not having a go at anyone! where have i done that??? i think you've misunderstood what i've been saying mate

The 4age vs b16 is an old ass question, but noones ever compared a 2zz-ge with a b18cr before and i want to get people's opinions .. isn't that what these forums are for?

i only ask because i have toyota allex with a 2zz-ge engine, and i'm more than likely going to swap for a integra type r with a b18cr

How many modded Integra's do you see around? Heaps.
How many modded Allex/RunX's do you see around? SFA.
As well as my obvious personal opinion that Toyota>Honda :D

dont sell the corolla but the only reason i have for that is that i love the 2zz engine and hope to swap one into the mr-s one day.

On a side note What ever happened to Honda vs Toyota drag days or did I miss something somewhere?

Is the 2zz-ge any faster than the 4age? I've driven a few cars powered with these and haven't been too excited by them :?

In the states with mild mods a 2zz in a Spyder will run high 13's low 14's.

Don't they blow up if you do that? ;) <runs away>

The hard truth of the matter is all equivalent NA Honda motors make better power/torque than the equivalent Toyota motors and give nothing away in reliability. Agree to some extent that some of the Toyotas are nicer cars, so really decide on what you want from it. At least Toyota have some of theirs attached to RWDs!

On a race track car setup, driver ability etc are probably going to play a bigger part in who is quicker between two cars than 20 or so hp in a car with bugger all torque in the first place but on the drag strip its been proven by a fair margain each time that the Hondas are going to pretty much destroy the Hondas in the NA classes.

meh - i'll chuck this one in:
whose parts bin is larger and cheaper lol - hondas.

Seriously though, the parts bin is a large consideration if you are lookng at serious modifications on a budget. I think that is one of the cool things about the honda scene is that its so large that the parts are invariably cheap due to suply and demand.

Hell, I was looking at Civic Si's before I got landed with the first Celica which lead me to sticking with toyotas (used to love driving around in my mates one when I was at poly with him).

Overall, I've generally liked the looks of the hondas. Some toyotas are just so plain jane.

Then again, hondas are rather kitset in construction. When i was fixing Dragons car (there is some related info on nzhondas about a front subframe..) the thing was built with a couple of nuts and bolts here and there.

It just seemed to me that Toyota built for longevity and reliability while working on Dragons go fast cart.

Anyhooo.. B16A > 4AGE in terms of parts bin and ease of modifcations and potential power. Nothing like a high revving engine, though i hate the vacuum cleaner exhausts on hondas.

With that comment I'd almost say you were is the 1800cc 1ZZ not the 1800cc 2ZZ powered car.

Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

I'm thinking it was in the 1988/89 Integra's.

The only comparison I've seen with my own eyes between the ZZCelica and Integra R's was when they had both running in the Production car racing. I have to report that the Celica was considerably slower than the Integra's. I *think* off the top of my head, the only thing that was slower than the Celica in that racing was the Skoda Fabia TD.

As for me, I've had two B16A cars, three 4AGE cars. I just prefer the way the 4AGE puts the power down. I don't know why, but I've not bonded with either of the B16A powered cars I have owned. I don't know if it is the car, or the engine though.

I note that the latest Echo RS is rocking the 1800cc engine, but only claiming 100kw output. What's up with that?

Quick question (because i genuinely dont know the answer):

How many classic honda's are out there? I see ke's regularly and the like... but the only old hondas i see are usually in the kfc drive through.

My dads old ke was on the 7th cycle of the odometer when he sold it in the early 90's, I bought the levin with that expectation of reliability and i have not been disapointed.

Also, the munters tend to flock towards hondas...
