General request, ST215 owners

Postby kim0663 » Fri Jan 16, 2009 8:44 pm

A general request/favor to anyone living in Forrest Hill, North Shore if they could give me a ride on their passenger seat? A mate bought a gt-t and it feels quite slow compared to my mr2.... and mines only a gen2 3sgte..

Car is bloody mint tho, boost comes on so smooth you don't realize it's boosting, etc etc

His car goes barely as fast as a stock mr2 running 7psi imho... so i am really curious as to how other caldinas go like and plus i may be a little worried for him

Doesn't a stock MR2 pull low 14 second 1/4s with a good driver?

Any wagon that can do that outta the box is pretty damn good.

Ive seen standard GTT's do low 14s, pretty savage launch required to achieve it though. I thought MR2s would be significantly faster :?

MR2's are about as fast as an evo 1/2 in a straight line I think (I thought they would be slower ) - so yeah flat to early 14s.

turbo mr2's are quite a bit faster than caldina gtt's. i'd imagine that's entirely due to the caldina's bulk and drivetrain setup though as caldina's have the more powerful engine. no caldinas here but a few vids some may find of interest

Actually, in standard trim they're not? Unless you can find some hard evidence?

Thanks mate, really appreciate that drive today.

I shall vouch on behalf of Mr2s that a stock caldina would piss all over a stock mr2 gen1 or gen2

the million dollar answer  note :

Modified sw20s are a different story

but then again, i would hesitate to run more than 14~15psi on my car if it had ceramic wheels.... so maybe similar, or bit faster? no idea, havn't been in one running 14psi in AGES so forgotten how slow they were
