i concur

although i was down at hams drags a couple of weeks ago, gotta say, one of the coolest things i seen is a RVR turbo gating it down the main street out accelerating a evo 3 hahaha i was lyk WTF

^^^ haha interesting way to look at it.

I reckon so long as you keep up with servicing and so long as it's not abused and neglected the GDI will be fine and problem free up until about 150,000-200,000kms. Just gotta remember they're not as robust as your typical Toyota.

i must say, the GDI V6 Pajero would rate highly as one of the worst vehicles i have worked on. nightmare cambelt to replace, and they don't like any moisture.........anywhere.

diesil ones might be ok, but the only petrol i have had much to do with managed to get water into fuel pump , crank sensor and other wiring when steam cleaned, rendering the POS undriveable for many hours

How is doing a cambelt on a north-south V6 hard? I'm sure it's no harder than a 4VZ-FE in a Hilux Surf, granted there's a couple less cam wheels to work with in the Surf. Most cars don't mind moisture but I guess there's a select few which don't.

frost - the Pajero for a long time continually rates high in Off roading magazine road and off-road tests, it's one of the best Japanese off-road vehicles.

Lol was the number plate RVRONP? there was one on trademe a while back with that number plate running around 250wkw I think

I'll second that. The bastards just keep on going! They are rated very highly amoung the 4x4 driving community in the Northern Terriotry, which is like a 4x4 mecca!

Not quite..

This was around in the mid 80s.. 4G63T powered (most of them anyway), LSD, IRS, 4w vented disc brakes, ABS, leather interior etc

That turbo Mirage was the fist mass produced turbocharged Japanese vehicle, it made its debut in 1978.
