Stag Ideas - Wellington

Postby HZRDIZ » Thu Jan 29, 2009 11:17 am

A few of the boys and I are flying down to Wellington for a stag weekend.

We have the night all planned out but need some daytime activities. There are 8 of us going so dont think there really is enough for paintball and i tried to find something along the lines of RC Car Racing but afaik there is only a club track to do this on.

Is there anywhere that does target shooting that isn't clay bird shooting ie: shoot cans or miscellaneous items with rifles?

Or is there a paintball arena in the area that can cater for only 8 ppl - 4 on 4?

Or another option is four wheel driving.

Any sugegstions would be great :)

Thanks

Riley

I don't know of any four wheel driving in Wellington off the top of my head. There's some sort of watch the seals four wheel drive thing, but that just involves piling you into the back of a Land Cruiser, and being driven somewhere. This sounds like not something you're looking for.

There is quad bike riding, in Ohariu Valley (Johnsonville).

There's a rally car ride that runs I think out of Blackrock 'resort', also Ohariu Valley. But I think they charge you butt rape prices.

Three different go-kart places I can think of in Wellington area. Porirua has LEGENDARY go karts of death, which are fun. Floor has zero traction, so results in massive slides and spins. Many bowling venues, including Lanes in the centre of town.

There are many Wellington Toyspeeders, so you could always recruit an opposition team for paintball (or go karting for that matter).

What day of what weekend are you looking for entertainment?

There's a place up past the Hutt Pick-a-Part that had Go-karting and indoor paintball (but rubber balls without the paint - I can't strongly recommend a box enough). I went there for a Stag do (Karting + paintabll) with about 10 of us in total.

That place is indeed win. Although those balls hurt like a mofo

What is the name of the place? Could be a goer cause they probably would do package deals if you did both karting + paintball

Daytona Raceway is the go-karting place just up from Pick a Part in Wingate, so I am guessing that's the place he is meaning

Karting and paintball at the same time?? That'd be more fun

The go karts near where Toyspeed Wellington meets (i guess you still all meet there) is my fav. The wooden floors make for interesting results

porirua go karts +5

the bloody things step out in a straight line, and if you're extra brave you can attempt to drift the whole front corner with no braking. mad backfires when you throttle off too.

seriously the most extreme go karts in wellington.

I was on the Wingate karts the other day and had much more fun than at Porirua. Guess I don't like driving on polished concrete.
Still plenty of sideways when I wanted to, but they also went forwards :D

If you wanna do paintball, the indoor one is the GHEY!! Give TagPaintball a call, they sometimes put a couple of small groups together to play. Tell him Rosey sent you, prolly won't get you a discount, but he might try and fit you in a bit better.

We had a stag do there a few weeks ago, was 10 people, much fun.

I'd suggest Rua Karts and Grenada Paintball over daytona in wingate any day of the week.

Like Leon said, if you want an opposition, im sure there are enough welly TS'ers to make up the difference.

When I tried to drift that corner, I hit the timing / pit box wall.

On, um, slightly more than one occasion
