There were massive skids there last night, and if a single patrol car is stupid enough to get stuck in the middle of that, then i wouldnt want to be in that car. What they needed to do was send a large swarm of 5+ patrol cars down in one go.

They didnt ambush him, he walked into a gunfight with his knife drawn.

Complete and utter BS. People bitch when the cops go in heavy handed, so when they try the low key approach, with two cars, this is the response

What right do thugs have to behave like that???

Mob mentality is the lowest form of life on this planet and needs to be dealt with hard. If that means coming down on every modified car in Christchurch then so be it. The boy racer community needs to police it's unruly elements that think they can get away with this sort of puerile behaviour, or else it will be hard for everyone else.

Wanna a bet on that one. All they need to do is squeeze one of the participants hard enough and they will get all the information they need ;)

This kind of crap has got beyond a joke, ANYONE that associates/cruises along to these 'events' are just as guilty of wrong as the person that throws a bottle or fires an air rifle.

At the end of the day, anyone that takes part in a mob against officer must be a fkn pansy. Theres no balls required to tag along with a bunch of no hope losers to cause problems.

I hope Bobby brings in some harsh legislation that allows officers MUCH more freedom to put this rubbish to a stop.

Bunch of homos

On a side note, the street I live off has a boyracer ban on it at night  *enjoys the piece and quiet*

I guess it's different when you live there, but from up here it's another case of 'Only in Christchurch'

Where do you find the most boyracers, where do you find bars that sell nos, where do you find the most hospitalizations due to legal party pill od's, etc etc..

i think you will find the cops will put the squeeze on, on this one. They won't take kindly to an officer being SHOT at and bottled by a mob

Your comments lead me to believe you are one of them? You certainly seem to be on the side of the thugs.

The "real stupid" thing to be doing is what the thugs were doing, not what the cops were doing.

Oh i dont deny that they will try...but unless the cop took photos, how will they ever prove who shot the air rifle? Im just assuming here, but if a mob of 300 people attacked a cop car, i can't see any of them helping po-po with an investigation. I think the more likely scenario will be a knee jerk reaction by the coppers (and fair enough too!) seeing any modified car pulled over, searched, fined, etc etc. I feel sorry for the CHCH guys on here with modded cars who will now be lumped in with the rest of these thugs.

Are you forgetting the problems up in Aucks until some guy had enough and drove his digger into their cars. Surprised some vigilante action hasn't happened down Chch.

If any cars got photog'd by the Police, they'll be around with a towtruck to confiscate said car......Unless

im definitely not condoning what the dickheads did to the police, thats stupid and i hope they get owned for that, but the police have to deal with the situation a bit better.

WOW! I agree with BZG|Bling, were you in the mob?

Cops get a call saying "theres some boyracers spinning wheels", I'd send a car to check it out,

Someone calls up and said "theres 300 boyracers with guns and bottles", then send in the AOS.... is there a recording of the phone call? If its an ambush, then I say we send in the dogs and AOS, shoot anyone under 21 and call it a day. BOOM! Gene pool sanitised.

A couple of hours in the cells with their new best mate, Bubba the 200kg child molester will soon spur their civic mindedness

However a more likely situation is that the moron who did it will start bragging about it, and someone will tell the cops

Sounds pretty intense. Looks like there was more than one police car there. Not that it made a difference!

"Initially bottles started getting thrown, and then I was fired upon by a slug rifle, or air rifle - three pellets struck my driver's side window, and about five seconds later the first bottle went through the window," Mr Armstrong said.

He escaped, but another police car had a bottle thrown through the rear windscreen.

"When the window was broken, they were communicating to other offenders down the road that they had broken the window and to start aiming at me."

It sounds like they got a bad case of blood lust. Seems to be a lot of premediation in there. Imagine if one of the coppers got killed 8O What a bunch of pussies. 300 v 2. Nice. I really hope at least one of them gets a good bashing in the cells.

When they used to have skids on down at the end of the petone esplanade here, if there was enough people cops would just turn up get told to $&#$% off.
There was so many people there, but the ones that really killed were often gang members of mongrel mob or whatever.

They'd chuck their bottles and stay out of view until the cop left then brag about it like they were heroes or something..

Hope this is a case of a minority letting down the majority as well.

I don't condone this sought of behaviour but the way the media gets hold of this it makes it sound like 300 people attacked this car when really its just 10 idiots playing heroes in front of the so called 300 people there and how do they come to the exact number of exactly 300,do they have the person that complained out there with a clicker counting them off or what.

If they find the people responsible I agree throw the book at them but really the media are responsible for alot of over-hype with some of these issue's like the so called huge boy-racer problem in NZ.
