two words - CAR CRUSHER!

Next time - bring 20+ cop cars, as many tow trucks as you can find and a car crusher. Then throw down HEAPS of road spikes (hopefully they don't get themselves like in this video http://www.break.com/index/rookie-cop-spikes-another-officers-car.html ), then just start crushing cars.

Although by the sounds of it - leave some of the people in the car while crushing.....

Used to own one of those! 3 cylinder - 1200RS model! haha

was awesome - went bloody well - although no centre diff, so when you pressed the 4WD button on the top of the gear stick, and tried to do a sharp turn on tarmac, it would hop and bounce around HAHA

Very fun car - and pretty amazing for 4WD'ing as well!!

That's what they are going to do with motorbikes.

have a list of what a learner can and can't have, things like rgv250's are just dangerous in an inexperienced riders hands.

The list is going to be based on power to weight ratio's.

The two cars I learned to drive in were both 2L, and I didn't manage to crash in either of them. If you're a muppet you're going to crash or whatever regardless of how powerful the car you're driving is.

Not only that, but there are plenty of quick small cars available.
That rule would quickly cause a "where do we draw the line" problem. You see plenty of idiots in starlets/civics/corollas. I presently have a 4L car, a 2L car and a 1.6L car, and the 4L is by far the slowest and least "boy racerish". The only way I can think to make that work is to specify individual models that are allowable for learners, and stipulate that no modification of them is allowed.

Your right the CC rating on licenses would not work, look at the power you can get out of 1.6L Vtec Honda engine, Easily enough to cause mayhem.
If they were going to go down that road then they would have to put a cap on Kw ratings of car, make it so that they couldn't own anything more powerful than a Kia or similar.

The cops should just block off both ends of the road next time and send in fulton hogans rollers and graders to flatten all the cars, if occupants don't get out of their cars then flatten the idiots too

Now THERE is a good idea! :D
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

They are just keeping up their tough guy appearances, take their license / car / chuck them in a cell and how tough do you think they will be?

destorying cars isnt going to solve anything, crush the car and theyll be down at turners the next day buying another. Its not the cars that are they problem, its the drivers. Lets put the drivers licence age back up to 18 or 20, what ever it used to be. and the 20 cop car raid and lock up idea gets my vote too

Be crying to mum and dad Id say.

I vote for the cops locking down the streets where an "event" takes place and searching all cars en mass.

What a self righteous prick. If I caught someone doing that to my car, they'd be getting the same treatment
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

I reckon it would work I mean you use a Vtec Honda as an example yep sure there are cars out there that will make more than others but I'd rather see learner drivers in these soughts of cars than something like I drive ie 450 HP Supra with torque to burn all over the rev range this to me is a sure sign of the idea I would like to see put into place. There is just no way somebody at the age of 15 should be able to rock up and sit there license in a car like mine I just see this as giving a loaded gun to a teenager who can't even P*SS straight and your just asking for trouble.

How do we no it won't work if they don't try I mean the systems that are in place definitely are flawed. So if its flawed they should make some changes.
