I pulled my head off the change the gasket, and found the block was slightly warped a few thou as well as the head.
Pulled out the pistons and there is slight detonation above the top ring (about 2cm around), so it was jamming the ring.
So pulled it all apart, just gona polish up the slight detonation marks off and free up the ring - I know when this happened when i was trying to tune my electronic bost controller and was spiking to 35psi+.

Also going to rebuild the box while its all out.

I'm putting my gearbox casings on now then will put in car!!
