I would be looking for an aluminium engineering place that may sell you an offcut.

Yeah thats what i thought. Its for the road testing gear that i have and the steel one is swinging too much when i am driving.

Will try a place for off cuts, cheers TRD Man.

talk to Nalco in East Tamaki, they have offcuts that they sell - they still charge you full price for material but don't charge a cutting fee. For the size you're talking about, I'd expect it'll cost around $70-80 if the price hasn't changed in the last 6 months. Also, it'll be a square/rectangle, if you want it round you'll have to cut it/turn it afterwards. I could probably do that for you on the mill at our workshop for a small box o' beer

As evil_si has said - talk to Kevin, they have 10mm and 12mm in stock.

I have access to a workshop, but I don't have a huge amount of time so I can probably help with the occasional small job, but nothing big.

Who's doing the waterjet cutting?

without jumping on your thread too much - I'm also after a bit of alloy. Basically I want to put about a ~10mm spacer on top of the spring (between spring and top hat) to raise the front of the car a little.....

Would alloy be best for this? or would it not matter what material I use?
