I've had a search and couldn't find the old threads with this information...

Need a car moved from Auckland to Christchurch. It's not driveable but it is a rolling body.

Who's the best/cheapest for the job?

try taging the car on to a haulage company who has half aload, it works out to be cheaper

one that springs to mind is a company in taupo that moves anything
called SHADES trucking
good c**ts

or tractor tranz up north do long hauls

or stl are another good company

cheap isnt a word used to lightly now days but there are bargins to be had

Give John Silcock a ring. 0274851255
Not sure if he goes as far North as Auckland though but worth a call.

Mainfreight have just started offering vehicle transport between main centres, dunno what their prices are like though - http://www.mainfreightprecision.co.nz
We know that four-wheel drive doesn't work in a racing car, and I proved to myself that it doesn't work very well for rallycross. I'm absolutely convinced that it has no future in rallying, either, even if the regulations allowed it. - Roger Clark (rallying legend), circa 1976

i've called a few places about getting cars from teh south island, most charge more for non runners - i guess cos they have to get a tow truck out to bring it in to the big truck, then somehow get it on the main truck

I just had a car transported from Hamilton to Chch, over night, it was with Captain Transporter and cost me $846. It came downon Auto Movements, now I must say, they had a slight incident with my vehicle, but they never questiond it when I said they damaged it, and it got repaired with NO issues. (just going to say that it was resonably priced and sorted issues)

Carr & Haslam
Jeffs Vehicle Transport
Auckland Vehicle Deliveries
Brian Roberts Towing
Car Haulaways

All should be able to do it, I've generally found Brian Roberts to be cheapest, but not sure if they hit the south island. Jeffs do nationwide so should be able to hook you up, expect to pay more for immobile vehicle vs mobile (non-running/driveable vs running/driveable).

If you have no luck getting it sorted by Thursday, flick me a txt and I'll get onto it for you. Not back at work till then and don't have access to our transport matrix from home.

for the love of god dont use mainfreight to shift your car, if they are anything as bad as they are with general freight it wouldn't be worth it.

Hanre decided he wanted something with a 3S in it.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

I have sent a car from Auckland to CHCH before through Tranzlink railway.

It was around $600. It is quite easy to do just have to drop the car at the depot and everything else is sorted.
