not all clamps are created equal. intercooler ones need a soft turned lip to stop them from cutting into the rubber,

those clamps are a waste of money. if you get the end or your pipes beaded you should never have a problem with normal clamps. it's all i use, and have never had a problem with hoses blowing off even with 25psi through them.

It's about longevity as much as anything, those T clamps are FAR more reusable than a more conventional hoseclamp.

Plus they really do clamp much better. Getting a bead on a pipe = more expensive than a $4 clamp that is up to snuff imo

if you dont have a bead, unless you are using wiggens couplings you are gonna have problems if you dont bead the pipes.

countless people always complain about blowing pipes off. as soon as they bead the pipe the problem goes away.

If you buy the right hose clamps you dont really need the big T clamps.
But you always have to have the ends flared.

The only normal hose clamp I use are the Zebra ones. Also bought the proper hose clamp screw driver that fits it perfect!

9mm wide.

Very very good hose clamp, prob the best i've used compared to other brands.

I have used the T ones in the past, but it was an overkill really as I never have pipes blowing off.

those "T bolt" hose clamps are a waste of time and money, predominantly used by people who are doing it for bling/looks more than actual performance. Alert Motorsports sell constant-tension worm drive clamps that have a spring which ensures they maintain the same amount of clamping force, regardless of expansion due to heat etc. They're highly awesome. When you're using worm-drives, provided you don't get crappy clamps with a folded steel body they'll usually be able to provide plenty of clamping, especially if you do them up with a socket on a screwdriver-handle rather than a regular screwdriver. You also definitely want to get ones that don't have have holes going through them (ie liner clamps or clamps with a raised thread rather than holes).

If you don't bead your pipes, and instead buy big old t-bolt clamps, you're a muppet.

You're all wrong. If you want to be the ULTIMATE in bling and reliability, you want Adel Wiggins clamps like these:

Similar to v-band I guess, but flexible, and I'm pretty sure you do them up without tools.

Those are good (if a bit of an overkill), but the problem with them is you can do them up too tight and crush your piping. Most people get a bit over zelous, and this is what happens.

I use constant torque ones :
