Well didn't do too bad (by my standards).
First runs
GTS-4: 16.27
- Couldn't do the brake torque thing good enough (did it better when practicing yesterday, but they were still bad launches) and turbo kicked in about a second or so after i took off.
GTS: 16.41
- Launched it at 4,000rpm with no wheelspin (was trying not to, did do it the other day from 5,000 - on a closed road of course) and very tidy gearshifts.
Second runs
GTS-4: 16.55
- Again had the whole brake torque problem, but this time i looked down at the 4WD gauge halfway through the run and it was transmitting a lot of power to the front wheels, so i let off a tad to get it back to rear wheel drive, then wondered why the car was revving to about 8,000 rpm (i kid you not, was into the solid blue area of the speedo) - Mr. Awesomest driver evAr here had left it in second gear.
GTS: 16.48
- Tried using a wee bit more revs when launching but got a little wheelspin when i released the clutch fully. Still, happy that both times are similar.
Gonna go to Chch one day in Screamin (GTS) and get a dyno tune (used to make 120 kW, now makes about 108kW) and also not quite finished with the GTS-4. I know it can do better, not sure if it can do a 15 but i'd like to get it closer.
But yeah, was bloody fun nonetheless.
Awesome variety of cars too (51 all up, my cars being #50 and #51). To list a few i can remember.
- Ferrari 599 GTB (Alan Dippie was racing it, but doesn't own it)
- Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997)
- Porsche Carerra 4S (997)
- Audi R8
- FPV GT
- Holden Commodores of all years and models (one less during the second runs though, as a late model SS decided to show off to the crowd. He made a huge smoke cloud. I then saw a car driving through the paddock on the side. It was said Holden. I then saw a tree shaking and said Holden coming to an abrupt stop. Showing off is bad mmmkay? Luckily the spectators were in the paddock on the other side of the road)
- Few Valiant Chargers
- Couple of late model RX-7's
- Couple of series 4/5 RX-7's
- Series 2/3 RX-7
- RX-3? (guy i went to school with)
- Nik Black in his R32 GTS-t (only other Skyline there)
- EVO III (Glen Frew, normally does tens but was only doing 11's today i think - possibly the fastest car there)
- Late (but not latest) model Impreza WRX STi
- S13 Silvia
- Pulsar (i beat it!)
- Chevrolet Silverado (?) truck (i beat it!!)
- Chevrolet Corvette C4 (?)
- Chevrolet Corvette C5 (yum!)
- Chevrolet Camaro (1970's)
- BMW 335 (latest model)
- Ford Mustang (1970's)
- Plymouth Cuda
Aaaand so on. Hopefully i'll have all the results soon. Took pics of all/most of the cars too.
