Help with AVS S5 programming

Postby astrae » Fri Mar 20, 2009 8:34 pm

Hi

Can anyone help me get a copy of the programable features instructions of a new S5 alarm. They aren't in the owners manual.

I want to know how to change the inbuilt turbo timer settings. The installer has turned it on and I want it off.

Thanks

i had a copy but cant find it atm, ill keep looking

If its on atm, its wired up that way.

If you turn it off through the manual, its gonna run for about 5 seconds anyway.

Some stupid thing they designed. If you want it completely off, the ignition needs to be wired slightly differently.

< ex installer services

*EDIT* found it, whats your email dude
I had vtax :(

astrae - As AJz said it will run on for a bit still as you have it has been wired through the immobilizers to run the t/t. The reason it does this (its not some stupid thing we designed 8) ) is so that in normal conditions when you are starting the car, the immobilisers stay closed so that the ignition and fuel pump don't drop away, would have a bit of trouble starting it otherwise

phraza - You would have talked to me :) our number is 09 4768052

Mr.Phreak - I'm always in a generous mood 8)

Anyways, to change turbo timer run times do the following:
Hop in the car and shut the door as well as having boot and bonnet closed
Arm then disarm the alarm
Turn the ignition to ON
Press the boot pop button (left hand button on torch remotes) 16 times, it will beep for each press, if not start again.
Now turn the ignition off, the siren will beep
Press the boot pop button, the alarm will beep out what it is set on
1 beep = 1min, 2 beep = 2.5mins, 3 beeps = 5mins, 4 beeps = 0mins
Press the boot pop button again to cycle through till you have the desired setting
Turn ignition on then off again to exit the mode

That will sort it for you :) You always have the option of just shutting it down early via the boot pop button anyways remember

Cheers
Brad
