ST185 Taillights - Is there a main fuse?

Postby KE25-KP30 » Sat Mar 28, 2009 11:39 pm

I didn't know what to put in the subject box to tell it, but i'm starting to work through WOF things on the Celica and it has no taillights going what-so-ever. Is there a main fuse or relay that runs the whole lot? Maybe a plug somewhere that might be unplugged?

Any ideas?

Actually now you say it, I don't think they do.

Just checked, dome fuse is fine, as is the taillight fuse.

Any more ideas? :D

Check all the bulbs for a start, do you have a test light or multimeter?

Yup, sure do. I thought that it would be a big chance if ALL the bulbs had gone at the same time! I'll take a look next time I'm out there.

Thanks :)

Many years ago my old 1983 Celica Supra had an issue where the dash lights would flicker and go out. Then flicker and come on a few minutes later. I figured it was a temperature issue and tracked it down to the single relay for the tail-lights and dash lights. New relay, all sorted.

Check the wiring diagrams and find the taillight relay.

Ah, that would make sense.... there do seem to be one or two relays missing here and there. Will do some hunting.

Thanks!
