Shouldn't, lol

Is that like the time we towed a race car all the way to dunedin to run it on a dyno that we were told would take the hp,
and the car overloaded the dyno while we were warming it up with too much torque?

Or like the 3 sets of tyres the guy with our old levin wore out doing one tune on a rolling road in chch?

I had mine on a rolling road and it wheel spun so easily.

It would prob be ok on high velocitys dyno as the dyno is up higher so you can tie the car down properly.

But still rather a hub.

all depends on the rolling road dyno, kent at speed source's does fine, and he has some serious hp cars on there.

semi's help, but wear out fast on the rolling road  can be avoided if dyno operater knows they are semi's to leave a little more time between runs lol.

you thought about calling him bazz? he's had nyle buckleys car on there, even glenn sucklings skyline.

Yeah he had a couple of decent strops holding my thing down as there isn't a lot of weight in the back end.. no issues with grip, although my car is gutless compared the blue levin.
current cars:
Evo 4 230Kw atw
1971 mini.

The only rolling road I would use is High Velocity. Good price to use the dyno. Remember i'm bringing my own tuner.
But would like to try find a hub one at a good price.

Go give Gavin at High Velocity a try. He's had my supra on there as well as Kevins and Justins all producing >400wkw.

Plus he is very well priced!

Yes dad uses all his customers cars on that dyno, many times now.
Might giv my car a go on there.

Only thing was the accuracy of the readings. Dad had his car on there with his new engine which made less power than his older engine, but on the engine dyno made alot more power than his older engine, which also reflected his lap times at puke.

Accuracy doesn't matter for a tune,

as you just want to make the most power you can on that dyno,
doesn't matter what the actual numbers are, except for bragging rights.

+1, people seem to forget that a dyno is just a tuning tool. Its easy to pick up tens of kw's at the wheels by dyno shopping.

2018 Ranger - Because workcar

+2 - Gavin is pretty good - although with Gavin I made 178rwkw at 15psi, Kent I made 170rwkw on 8psi and it was a cleaner tune.

In saying that Gavin had never used or seen the EMS Stinger 4424 before so I was telling him how to use the software - and that's not a good thing HAHA

Kent on the other hand knows the stinger and the software inside and out.....

You cannot compare chassis dyno results.

You can get exactly the same model of dyno and install two of them, a year later they will have different readings for the same car.

As has been said they are a tuning tool only TBH.

You cannot even compare engine dyno's to each other as minor installation differences can make a huge difference in readings.

If you want to compare over time you need to use the same unit and know it is well maintained.

I've had the same cars/utes on a Dynapack in Auckland,Taupo & Wellington as well as a couple of them we have taken to Australia & providing you replicate the runs as best as you can with regards to length of run/ramp rates & temperatures I've always been within 1kw so the repeatability of same dyno makes is pretty good, but they all have to be similar models with similar calibration. I've previously found similar with Dyno Dynamics but really tyres is the main factor there for repeatability. As for Superflow engine dyno's I've seen a engine make the same figues here in Auckland as in Christchurch & then the same in Oz. Really it comes down to replicating the conditions & also the operators.

I also wish we could just race dyno figures as it'd make things so much easier & cheaper plus no panel damage.
