Car issues

Postby slighty_looney » Fri Apr 03, 2009 5:46 pm

Hey guys

Im just going out on abit of a limb but i really need a hand.

I am trying to sort out why my car has no spark, im very close to taking to speedworks to get him to fix it but i don't want to spend the cash and i think it wont be to hard to figure out,

if anyone has got any ideas or wants to come around and have a look and try help me figure it out it would be great.

Will reward the person who figures out why it wont start LOL

thanks guys

Have you confirmed its definitely not spark, or are you just assuming that because its not firing at all? Those things are renowned for flooding, its not uncommon to set up a fuel pump switch to allow the engine to be cranked a few times without fuel prior to starting to allow it to clear itself out.

I had a quick look for the easiest way to check/fix this issue if you don't have said switch set up:

If you haven't thought of it, might be worth trying...

Even if they do flood, leaving them sitting for an hour or so is usually enough to let them clear up enough to fire up. Mine would do it without fail every morning that I was running late for something

yea thats true, they have bad flooding issues, but its not that, and it only floods after it starts because the fuel in the lines runs out onto the spark plugs, but i have taking all the plugs out, and tested them all, they dont work, very gutting. txt me if u want lith if u wana sort out to come and have a look,

and to answer above question car is 1988 series 4 rx7

Did you get this sorted?

If there's no power at the fuel pump i'd check the fuel relay and ECU.. Taken the car out in the rain? FC's had issues with leaks. If the ECU has water damage you could be getting this..

Sure do bud, she's for sale but I'm really not that keen to sell her, so I'm not trying to hard. When I get the right offer it'll be time :?
