Lighter the better, good quality tyres will make a huge difference, 15" will be lighter than 17" (in theory)

16" tyres most expensive of the 3.

None will give you any performance however, but some might require less performance to get moving :lol:

Stick with ya 15s if you want the best 'performance' 17s are for show.

I noticed a massive difference going from 16" wheels to 17" wheels with (approximately) the same rolling diameter. It had a lot to do with the 17" wheels being much much heavier than the stock ST205 16's.

Could could feel the reduction in acceleration slightly from day one.

On my other car I noticed no difference going from 14" to light 15" wheels.

Therefore different wheel/tyre combos may have different effects.

Stay with smaller wheels if you can.
Side wall thickness is not that important than rotational inertia.
In fact on NZ roads you need that side wall.
I had 205/40/R16 on my trueno and just driving on the highways made my discs oval.

Bigger wheels look better :) just add more boost to your 4AGZE with a bigger pully and then you can have nice wheels + performance :D

16" would probably look the best on a AE82 but you should go with either 15" or 17" as 16" tyres are becoming expensive. Currently they're about the same price as 17".
What ever size you go for in the end get the lightest wheels you can find. JDM stuff like RAYS, Enkei, BuddyClub etc are going to be you best option for weight saving. Run of the mill stuff like Advanti, DTM etc are pretty heavy

Something like this would look cool on an AE82

But 16" TOM'S 4 spokes would look "fully sick" IMO :wink:

Just be aware that if you get really light wheels they may/will also be more prone to buckling and work fatigue. Especially with crap nz roads. All good for track work but just thought Id mention it.

I run advanti cpo35's 15X6.5 205/50 DZO3Gs on my race car BZG levin, very light for how cheap they are.

fuk it bro bang on the 17's its looks soooo much better, as far as handling goes, spend the money on the suspension setup rather than the lighter wheels, a lot of the newer yhi, dtm etc stuff is getting lighter and better in quality, im considering changing my wheels gain but i really like the way the look.

A decent set of shocks and springs will be a far better way to spend your cash, you can run bigger wheels if you have that area sorted.

You talk like a gangsta or is it just slack spelling? Hard to tell.

How wide are your tyres?

Yep, they are CPO35s. Good looking mag and are really light.

I'm not a fan of really big wheels on small cars. My Mrs has 17s on her Starlet and ride quality is poos and has buckled a wheel when we went on a tour of the south island last year.

Its a Euro thing. All the 4 stud Pugs, Audi, Saab, Citroen and Volvo are the same. They probably think 4x100 & 4x114 are strange 8)

To do with imperial measurements?
108= 4.25"
114.3 = 4.5"

Just get adaptors 108 to 100 or 114
