The BZV would be worth less than $4k on the open (dead) market today. So bear that in mind. It might even be worth nearer to 3.5k with those km's.

It is probably still a good car.

But, really isn't worth all that much coin when it comes time to sell it.

Yeah, that's the one haha. Considering holding off then, though it's hard to find someone willing to buy my car for cash :(

Any tips? :P

Be prepared to take very little money, because it's a real pain trying to sell cars at the moment.

i know the feeling, hence why i sold the levin at the price i did... Its a good car, nothing wrong with it at all. Except it uses oil like a typical 4age. But otherwise its pretty mint, i regret selling it. But your car sounds like itd be worth more than the levin maybe?? Im not sure but i wouldnt trade, or maybe youd want some cash off him at least. Not sure what s13s are worth... The paint on the roof is pretty stuffed on the levin, hence why i dropped the price. definitely not worth $4500

With regards to the engine.. VVT pulley was done this time last year to stop the diesel rattle, along with cambelt and tensioners. I saw his ad on trademe too, it does NOT have abs brakes...

another thing to consider/check out is the super strut suspension as this is very costly to repair and be wary of s/s parts being replaced with aftermarket parts- they dont last long. 200km is nothing to get concerned over other than re-sale point of view, altho as mentioned oil consumption can go thru the roof, would pay to check that. I had a Bz-v levin was an awesome car, no problems altho i owned only it from 39km-65km. it even used a small amount of oil at those kms :?

Cheers guys, and particularly from Boost_4_Life. With the market at the moment, and the market for S13s in general, I'm sure my car is worth more but no one is willing to pay that much for it. I'll go ahead with the swap if it looks all good, and if he gets back to me - I don't think there's much chance of me getting what I want for it, unfortunately :P

As far as oil usage goes, how much would it go through? Would it be fine changing the oil every 4,000km as usual, with minimal top-ups between? You never use a full bottle of the stuff when you change it anyway I figure though, so there'll always be some left over for topping up :)

My Ae101 silvertop has done 270,000. Uses oil but that's cos its leaking form the sump where it connects to the block and from the oil filter locator. I've been too lazy to fix either oil leak  My oil consumption would be on the excessive side as the engine does practically a full self oil change between my oil changes (approx 5000 - 9000 depending on my mood) I don't like spending money on my 4age as its only my daily and never under excessive conditions.

Mine has super strut and is just starting to make ominous super strut noises now under brakes, but flew threw a wof a week ago.

yea i used to change every 5000, with top ups between. To be honest it only really uses oil if you decide to thrash it. Under normal daily driving it uses little. You'll get a puff of smoke under acceleration but nothing serious. Basicially just a typical 4age.. You could try thicker oil maybe, but i always just stuck with 15w40.

The superstrut control arms were replaced about 2 years ago now. Balljoints were starting to wear so I just replaced the whole lot in one go. Should never give you any more trouble.

How come you need to get rid of the s13, too hard on gas??

oh i forgot, the only other problem with it is the paint on the roof... typical 90's toyota  Basically the paint on the roof is now completely f*cked... It started to oxidise about this time last year, now its just gonna get worse. Again, typical levin... lol
