superstrut parts

Postby tim_blair » Mon Apr 27, 2009 7:31 pm

my warrant is comming up soon and last time it failed on play in the wheels
coz of the loose balljoints etc

some how i was able to tell them that i took it to tonys tires and they "tightened" it (without actually doing it) and the play was magicly fixed
hahahahahaha

but i dont think ill be able to get away with that this time

so where is the cheapest place to get new superstrut parts?

as i know that genuine ones are really dare

When I had to get two of my superstrut components replaced I was told by both Pit Stop and the local Toyota dealer that nobody makes aftermarket replacement parts for it. So yeah, hopefully mark can hook you up...

Think I paid around $500 for the two arms for one side from toyota (w/out hookups)

Don't even bother looking for aftermarket, just get genuine from Mark.

get genuine. The links are a piece of piss to replace too, most if the time. Sometimes you get the odd stubborn one, but barely ever.

yep, I had my old Levin ones replaced under mech warranty, they used reconditioned ones and they lasted about 6 months, next time I demanded new TGP's and they were good for the rest of the ownership of the car, genuine ones should last 100,000km's or so

BNT used to do them also, but came in TGP wrappers. Yet were cheaper than Toyota

I think retail pricing is in the region of $250 (+GST or not I cant remember) per arm. And there are 4 arms
