Who goes to the extent of fitting a full cage,

and then re-fits the full glass windows?

Some, but not a lot.

I was thinking old 240/260/280zs would be a good idea.

Looks like I was right :D

First "race" was meant to be on Sunday...
Anyone know anything?
I got told about this the other day, and then just spotted this threat (yeah.. i have to stop skimming). It does seem that there is a large section of cars that don't comply with the rules, and are yet on the site...
Also I've heard of a couple of "old" corolla's that are aiming to enter, but they are fitted with silvertops and blacktops... Is this considered late model engines?

I think this is a good idea in principle.

Ha - I've met the guy organising this series... Steve Melhuish.
Went out and looked at his AE86 when he first bought it.
He has done a lot of racing in HQ and/or Classic cars classes (can't quite remember what class). I think he got the cold shoulder when he bought a historic jap car and wanted to race it in his old classes...

I've spoken to people who will be running a blacktop 4age in their AE82 in this series...
How does this line up with the rules OR is have there been ammendments to the rules? If so, where are they written?

Should be a great class!

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Seems like a good idea, but rules need a bit of a re-work i think. Maybe a couple classes of different modification levels, so people without huge $ can still go out there and have some fun.

They should add a TS-cup like series to this one - so under 1600cc starlets/corollas/Sunnys etc.

Low level motorsport is still really quite expensive. Personally would love to get into it, but wouldn't want to sink more than $10k into a race car, just too much money to loose when you stack it. Which will happen if you drive hard enough

I would like to see a single car sprint type section/series/etc. It would allow a lot of "daily" driven cars to have a go. One of the problems for me is that to race against other people directly you need a full cage. Which although not difficult to keep, is also a hassle to keep....

Also, I'd like to see the rules tightened a bit to remove more mods... All racing is expensive, that's a given, in my opinion it would be a bit more interesting if you were much more limited in the scope of mods. As there is a direct relationship between the size of your wallet and the sort of mods you can put on a car....
