thanks for letting us know about it. let the letter writing begin. I didn't realise the police were going to get those sort of changes approved, hopefully they'll be revoked at the select committee stage if enough of us write it, especially if you have examples of where the police have abused/have no clue about laws surrounding certs and noise tests etc.

I can't see that passing in its current form, as I really can't see act/maori/labour/greens supporting it. Well, I can see Labour supporting it but I doubt they would as they're the opposition and it's their job to disagree with national-proposed legislation

Also if you get one of these put on you, you can apply to the courts for a judicial review on the matter, and if you can win one of those the floodgates will open...

$&#$% sake!!!! i am so over this wrongful persecution. im not even a "Boy Racer" (standard exhaust etc) but shit this gets me angry.

This is true unfortunately.... and the worst bit is, if you make a boy racer run, they'll likely crash and kill a family while they're at it.

Surely there is no way they can just use suspicion to convict someone, without trial!
