If not is there anywhere in Wellington/Lower Hutt I could get some made up?

Coz I wanna see how much I can squeeze out of the motor... It's kinda obvious the 4age is the better engine and I would have had one by now if I were interested.... 8O

You could do a low boost turbo option. Have a look for the turbo 7AFE Carib in the project section (Search should be able to dig it out).

It was done using the stock ECU, stock motor, bolt on a turbo, use a 4EFTE MAP sensor and Gt starlet injectors. I believe he used a MSD BTM for timing. Apparently this setup has been used on a 4AFE as well and worked well.

You also need to realise the "F" head is not really a performance bit of kit. It's designed for fuel economy. The 4AGE is an obvious choice because it works. Why not get a 4AGE? What are you trying to prove?

I just done a conversion from a 2e to 4afe. Im south african and seeing that that we didnt have much of a market for powerful performance cars people decided to make do with what they had and to my surprise I saw quiet a bit of power pulled out of this motor. Besides that the 4age is the cliche way of doing things and I wanna try to be a bit different from everyone else.

I know the 4afe was build for fuel economy, but I still wanna have a crak at it...

Do you get where Im coming from?

lol sweet man how much money will you pay just 2 get the performance to that of a 4age.

hmmm you could start by bolting a blacktop head on that would get you some good gains.
then you could replace the block with a block from a bzg then every mod from there you be making gains over a factory 4age

if you really dont wana go 4age bolt a 4agze in there.

all the parts you will be buying to make your 4afe go faster are gana be 4age parts whether they be factory 4age parts or aftermarket.

hmmm u could spend 500 plus getn cams or u could spend 200 bucks and bolt a ge head on.

I doubt there would be billet blanks for them, much like the e series. Kelfords would be able to do a street fighter grind on the stock cams. Any more aggressive than that and the stock ecu wont like it

talk to a local cam/speed shop
the 4afe is not a bad engine, better down low than a 4age
for shits and giggles go for it
if you have specific hp your after, then maybe 4age would be better

but if you want to do it because you just want to do it
then do it
try looking on toymods for billzillas 4afe mods
now, i dont believe its quite what he reckons it could be, but im sure his efforts have come up with something useful
