Teretonga public track day
Sat 18 July

Morning 10am Timed 1/4 mile single car sprint(Drag)

Afternoon 1pm laps

$70 for the day or $40 either the 1/4 mile or track laps

TERETONGA PARK
REGULATIONS

Your opportunity to drive around the best motor racing circuit in New Zealand!

Drive around an International Motor Racing Circuit in a safe and friendly environment and get involved with Motor Sport.

Competitor Entry Fee is $70.00 including GST payable at documentation.

Requirements are:
- Current WOF and Registration.
- NZ Drivers Licence.
- A mechanical and safety check must be passed. Noise limit 95dba.
- An approved crash helmet and clean, protective one piece fire-retardant or pure cotton fabric overalls must be worn.
- No passengers to be carried.
- Cars will be separated into categories.
- Prior to entering the circuit for testing, each session will assemble in the Assembly Area and await the signal to proceed on to the circuit proper. (Sessions will rotate in order according to demand)
- Special conditions apply.
- No racing allowed, cars will leave dummy grid at 5 second intervals.
- All drivers are required to attend a briefing before using circuit. This will be held at the conclusion of Documentation.

Proposed Timetable (subject to change)

8.30 to 9.45 Documentation/Scrutineering (will continue till 12.30 for Afternoon
Session)
9.45 Drivers Briefing
9.55 Track Clearance & Gates Colsed
10.00 Standing 1/4 Mile
12.30 Documentation/Scrutineering Closes for Afternoon Session
12.30 Drivers Briefing
12.40 Track Clearance & Gates Closed
12.45 to finish Circuit Sprints ,track time

sounds fun i assume no drifting (or my case attempting to drift)
hmmm so lloyds flat are u guys keen to go? although a brake upgrade may be necessary.
getting bottled by the friendly Oamaru locals for not doing skids - Coupe Life

Brakes in the Supra would last all of 2 laps. And the KE20 would probably come to some sort of epic and awesome-to-watch failure which I don't want to be on the inside of. And you'd probably kill me on the bike lol

MR2 isnt all that scrutineering worthy. Re Amp install in frunk :lol:

If i have a new car by this stage I could be keen though.

A standard car is fine just do 1 warm up lap 1 fast lap then a cool down lap just do it in sets of 3 laps

One day maybe. Wanna have a go around Levels first. But before even that i wanna get better car control skills so i don't end up in the tyre wall. :s

Ya dont need much skill, if you can drive on the open road well then thats all you need .
The track day part isnt hard out racing you can go as fast as you want,
If thers a few solw cars /first timers or people who want to take it easy
we can put you in your own group. :wink:

Teretonga is a very user friendly circuit has plenty of run off if someting does go wrong, all my problems have happened on the main straight.

Stop trying to talk me into it. ;) :P My wallet won't let me at the mo anywho. But should be entering in the Alexandra drag racing in Sept, try improve on my 16.48 i did in Dunedin this year in the GTS.

Keen as heck to do track racing/driving though, so will make it to Levels and Teretonga one day. :)

im definatley interested my concerns lie with cost getn a hold of helmut etc and my car is my daily driver so when it breaks getn it back to dunedin haha.why not improve on 16.48 at the quarter mile drags at this track day haha.

omg guys come on. If my sprinter gets its rust fixed and wof by then im definatley in with my 3au awesomeness of power. An yeah i will fark the brakes after the first corner :)

exactly, brakes only slow you down and kill your lap time!!

if your biggest goal its to better a 16.48...... maybe the the bar needs to be raised.

Lol, brakes at teretonga,

you do kinda need them, I know what happens when the dont work,
that's how I dinted the roof of my car.
