Custom water lines

Postby cat007 » Tue Jun 23, 2009 10:08 pm

Hey all

I'm wanting to replace most to all of the radiator water lines and heater water lines on my Hiace as they're all hard and crunchy and I'd rather they didn't burst.

I'm wanting mainly the hoses found on this page:

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_1987_T ... _8716.html

I've spoken to Toyota and they want $60-$140 per hose - and there's 5 of them so don't really want to do that. And they don't have them in the country....

I've tried going through Partmaster but I was only able to get the top radiator hose from them - maybe I need to sit down and go through them all with them.....

Does anyone else have any suggestions? Maybe getting hoses made up is cheaper than I'm imagining?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers

Albany didn't have anything last I checked - but I'll check the Wairau one when I'm next in there. Thing is, it's not the generic radiator hoses that Supercheap seem to stock - its the strange heater hoses, which they don't appear to stock....

They usually have a bin full of odds and sodds, good for if you're piecing together a car that doesnt have a standard radiator hose at all.

If you take your other pipe(s) down and have a rummage around, you'll most likely be able to come up with something that fits, even if it's two sections joined together.

Good point - except I DO have standard radiator hoses - dammit! lol

I'll have a look - but not really wanting to use 2 separate hoses per piece....especially when there's 5 hoses I need....

That's 10 hoses - and probably about $20 a hose....kinda adds up lol

are super cheap/repco/partsmaster to useless to look up their computer and get something in from another branch or a supplier?
just because they dont have it in that branch doesnt mean they dont exist

heater hoses might be hard to get from those kind of places but if they cant do radiator hoses theres something wrong

Have you emailed Manawatu Toyota as per the sponsors section? Will definitely get them cheaper for you than off your local dealer. You'll still have the wait but at least you'll know they're the right hoses.

you are after heater hoses......
they are smaller than rad hoses
should be able to buy lengths from any parts store
the only place you will get the moulded ones is toyota

thanks for that. I'm going to PartMaster this sat to go through their 'new' book and see what hoses they can get me

Otherwise I'll probably just have to use regular heater hose - assuming the bends aren't too tight...
