Postby gleem » Mon Jun 29, 2009 11:27 pm

took a ae111 trueno for a drive tonight and noticed the abs light didnt turn off, slammed the breaks on and definetly was wasnt working.. my questions is, is this a common problem in these cars, what is most likley the problem and what would the best and worse case senario be dollars wise to fix this?

also iirc you wont get a wof with the abs light on?

cheers

too the best of my knowledge, would be suspension, front pads and sway bar, also noticed that on the sensor under the water tank there was pink spray paint on the abs lines.. so guessing its been an issue before sometime in its life

About 1/2 the ABS faults we get at work are caused by people stretching the sensor cables when doing work on the car.

and that's across all models.

Other than that Toyota ABS is reliable enough that Im can't say there is a common fault.

Probably be a sensor, need to check the codes to see what one(s).

a trick i learnt recently, is to give to sender part of the hub a good clean.
build up of brake dust can cause the light to stay on

I am having a similar problem with the ABS light. I installed this abs in my car, and I havent connected any wires to the diagnosis plug. Can anyone tell me which wire I run to the diagnosis plug, and to which pin in the plug? Thanks
