Im ditching the air con pump on my 1jz
just want to know the part number of the shorter belt??

I did it on my surf, get some string, run it around the pulleys and then minus a little bit so the tensioner can do its job.

From memory the belt you need is off a falcon 6 cylinder engine......

6pk1865, 1865mm belt. gates part number K060735. did this to my in my supra.

from memory i thought it had to be around 1870mm long, and it was october 2005 i did it in....

yeh iv got an 1880 on my 2jz. not sure if the alloy pulleys are larger or not though.

im 100% sure the 2jz water pump pulley is diff and the rest are the same? or do i have that the other way around

yeh but people generally do the 1jz waterpump conversion (like i have) to get rid of the hydraulic fan pump.

I have a 6PK1900 on mine.

Got that size from using the string trick

Stock was 6PK1940 i think.

The waterpump used for the hydraulic fan is like, a million times more expensive to replace than the one that uses viscous clutch/electric fans, so most people switch over to the cheaper pump and electric fans when doing conversions to avoid the huge expense.

last time we priced up a replacement hydro pump was over $1500, bout 5 years ago. not fun. plus custom turbo intake pipes went straight through where the hydro pump sat...

Awsome, i was just going to ask why people change it. So when changing to the mechanical 1, you have to change the pulley and run a 1jz powersteering pump?

Just need a 2JZ Water pump pulley (that would normally have a viscous fan attached). Nothing else needs changing

you buy the cambelt kits from toyota, that includes seals tensioner belt idler and the waterpump assembly for $300 odd bux

the problem is trying to find a pulley, they are far and few between, best option is to get the alloy kit off trademe.

nah you can use the 1jz pulley, but they are just as hard to come by. let me know if you want me to get the cambelt kit for you, as thats trade through toyota, retail customers cant get that price.

on a side note i got a 2jzge pump from toyota non hydraulic and my 2jz pulley fits perfect. anyone got a theory on that?
