who the $&#$% cares, its a cool vid.

check out the race starting about 3:10, note the speed of the GTR and how soon the Veyron is matching, then exceeding it.... :o

then watch the 2nd vid 8O

any one know what the music is?

Thats just amazing, cool clip :D You hear the numbers being read out as the GTR accelerates, no slouch at all.... I can't even imagine what driving a Veyron would be like though would jump at the chance haha.

that's unfair!! the gtr has that camera equipment on its roof that must reak havoc with its aerodynamics

put two power plugs on your playstation and play GT at twice the speed

yeah the GTR is fair flying, quite impressive acceleration at that speed. and where did the Veyron go? lol

Often videos dont fully show the full effect of things. so what would it be like watching in real life? 8O

Imagine it as 4x SR20DET's from the S15 in a single engine.....
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

You'd need about 7 B18C's to match the Veyron's torque.

Not really a fair contest the Veyron still had the its wing up the whole way, with it down it would have hammered the GTR by more but go figure the Veyron does that to just about all cars its tested against.

I remember reading in one of Jeremy Clarksons books that in normal conditions the Veyron has a speed cut at 200mph ish, but if you stop, put the key in a slot in the floor it changes the aerodynamics a bit, locks the wing in place and removes the speed cut.

the speed key

car is normally in "handling" mode which has the active wing
"speed" mode lowers the car more and locks the wind away for less drag

The Veyron even has a radiator for the hydrolic fluid that lifts that wing up.

I to would have the F-1 but to be honest I'd feel safer at speed in the Veyron it just seems to be able to access the speed easier than the Mclaren.Even in this drag race the Veyron had the wing up so with it down the poor Mclaren even would have got its beans all impressive allthe same though.
