Nuremburg ring

GTR - 7:28
Veyron 7:40

The only thing the Veyron has going for it is

a) top speed
b) faster accleration
c) looks and styling
d) outstanding engineering

GTR

a) cheaper to buy
b) cheaper to service
c) better on a track
d) better in the real world
e) cheaper insurance
f) upgrade potential

In saying that I wouldnt mind both in the garage.

That flood of torque from the Veyron would feel amazing....
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Its only been recently that they have cracked the new gtr ecu to be able to get the power out of the engine. Nissan and the japanesse government had some form of a agreement on not making it a monster like the other series have become.

lets just say it has a massive kiwi input for this ecu on the gtr 8)
and i will leave it at that

The Veyron is stunning, sure a GT-R is faster round the 'ring and more practical but who cares? The Veyron is in a whole different world of car. Plus a Veyron is a sure fire investment, you'd never lose money on one if you'd bought it new whereas a GT-R is going to devalue and in 20 years time you'll see matt black ones with cut springs driven by kids with co-signed loans cruising town on a friday night.

Still, I'd be happy to take either—hell I'd be happy with a ride in either!

Exactly, these aren't the sort of people who buy their oil and filters when Supercheap is having a sale.

Imagine that.. Walk into Supercheap or Repco..

"Yea, g'day.... After about 20 litres of Magnatec, and an oil filter"

"Not a problem, what vehicle was the oil filter for?"

"Yea, a Veyron"

"..... A WHAT?!"

"A Veyron. Its a Bugatti"

"......"

"Its a 2007 model?"

*customer stands there*

* wanker behind the counter still talking and joking*

*cutsomer that pays the wankers wages still standing there*

* tosser glances over and says *mumble mumble *

* customer chucks item on counter*

*daggers stares at each other*

*21 dollars*

*customer hands money over*

* no please /thanks you's*

*customer walks out with poxy chinese oil filter that is the wrong one

*repeat from step one*

Where the hell does that expression come from? Monkeys like bananas. Elephants like peanuts.

Who knows? I'm sure monkeys like peanuts too though. Plus if you say pay bananas it doesn't sound as bad because bananas are a lot bigger than peanuts.

And the idea of hiring elephants is absurd.

I think you might be confusing your species here. Apes like bananas. Monkeys, as in those employed by organ grinders, were usually fed on peanuts.

Veyron: 395k per tonne
GT-R: 200k per tonne

At top speed the Veyron would run out of gas in 12secs and tyres in 15secs.
It takes 50sec to get to 400k. And does 400m drag in 10.2secs. That doesnt seem great. lol.

I think they should have made the GT-R look like 350/370z. I think its ugly. IMO
