from the article abotu renaults suspension the FIA seem to think alonso thought he had a puncture and the team didnt tell him the wheel hadnt been secured properly.

thast why the ban, as they were found to have broken several safety rules

But in the interview after he retired he admitted that he saw the brake cover was loose. Besides the danger to the spectators I can't see Renault not warning their star driver of the nature of his problem when he radioed about the "puncture".

Oh dear. Silly Gonzo.

From the replay, it looked as if someone let him out of the stop before the tyre guys had finished up and put their hand in.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

The guy with the gun had put his hand up but the other chap that was meant to lock the duct in place wasnt finished

From what i saw his hand was still on the wheel when the car left the pit

It looked like his air gun was still on the nut!

I think they were saying that the nut will have been tight to start with, but with the duct not being locked in and spinning it loosened it, it was only a matter of time till the wheel made a break for it

Im sure that the gun was off, but theres a good chance i wasnt the most alert at that hour of the morning

I think the ducts have to be rotated into place and act as the locking mechanism for the wheel nuts when the click into place.

Before the ducts were used the wheel man had to pull a tag in the center of the hub to lock the nut in place.

You've left out the best one, Alonso makes early shift to Ferrari, Flavio sacks Piquet, no more Renault team...

Oh and I forgot the rumour that BMW is pulling out of F1, though that one is probably true :?

Well, at the moment, they're saying he'll drive IF Massa can't make the race.... I'm actually hoping Massa won't be back in time.

If it gets confirmed that Michael will be racing, its going to probably be the most watched worldwide race of the season....

At one of the most boring tracks on the calendar

I would love to see him at spa though, him and Kimi battling it out for the whole race is a battle I have always wanted to see!

Hmm, no testing allowed, he's never driven the current car, he admits to lacking fitness, and he injured his neck and shoulder early this year, I wouldn't expect much more than midfield running for at least a couple of races.
