Not a toyota, RB questions

Postby bbq1988 » Tue Jul 28, 2009 12:06 pm

Hey guys, i know afew people on here have played with Nissan RB's.

I Have a simple question,

Will R32 Silvertop RB20DET Manifolds (Both intake and exhaust) bolt onto a R31 GTS-X Redtop RB20DET? (i think it is the ECCS Version but will need to double check)

Reason being that we have been offer'd a Redtop engine for (basicly) Nothing off a friend.

I Would ask on SDU but after registering the stupid site wont let me post.

Cheers for any replys.

Exhaust manifold yes. As for the intake manifold i cant help on that one.
Redtop engine is nothing special.
Best bang for buck find a r32 rb25de and +t it
Really easy to, just find exhaust manifold, find a rb25det turbo and lines, bolt em onto the block and tune. Then when money allows increase injector size etc

Cheers mate, I Have a R32 GTS Type S Coupe, in quite good nick. It seems that a basic RB30 on about 6-8psi will be cheaper for me as i will need to rebuild the 20 anyway :-(

I was looking at the 20 because of the prices for a good gearbox to go behind a 30 (25det box = $$)

Cheers for the info

With having the R32, ill let u know what i have done with my 180
I am using a r32 gtr gearbox which has been modified to Rwd
Had the transfer case chopped off.
Besides a lil fab work and custom crossmember still works out cheaper and you still have the mechanical speedo drive, where as the r33 has electronic.
Just beware as a cheap rb30 build can still be costly :p

best way to go = buy genuine 20det, have had many experiences with +t's recently, they are just frustrating and for the sake of a few hundred bucks more you better off to get a genuine one with all the manifolds and parts with it in the first place.
