How much are soarers worth? Jzz30

Postby kim0663 » Wed Aug 12, 2009 7:29 pm

Due to unforeseen reasons, i am being pushed to sell my beloved soarer...I need to know fairly accurately and realistically how much i can get from it because it is the main factor on whether i should keep it or sell it.

after some research, soarer prices are like WTF; some are dirt cheap, some are ridiculously expensive. What should a Jzz30 fetch price wise?

done 170kms, high stall tq converter, sitting on 19s with a tidy kit...any suggestions would help

it's fairly tidy and i dare say it's much nicer than some i've seen. Ex- silent knight's car which i bought pretty much dead and done a fair bit of work to revive

Most are dirt cheap because they want to actually sell them, the ridiculously expensive ones have been for sale for ages and have very little interest in them (Except for the few later model ones)

If you're expecting over 6k, you might be in for a disappointment unless it's something really special. If you don't need to sell, stick a higher price on it and see what interest you get but most people with cashy money don't want a 18 yr old car with high ks that isn't very practical and has useless economy.

my car took 4 months to sell,210km, $8300, and it had a TRD LSD, programmable engine management, strengthened auto trans, and a mint 85km motor. it had almost 10k of mods, and a low 12 sec slip. Heartbreaking stuff, but there's not much cash out there at present.

Im after a Soarer at the moment but am in no rush.....having owned a 91 model in the past, they are great cars with a 'reputation' for things going wrong (although that is totally unfounded in my opinion). Toyota parts are the killer and in a 20 year old car they add up....I never had any majors in mine though.

So my sights are set on a facelift Jzz30 (possibly a Jzz31)- the extra few grand saved on a earlier model can be wiped out pretty quickly if something goes wrong or if you are a perfectionist.

As for your one- Some more details are probably needed- What year; condition; spec (I think I spy the non woodgrain interior which usually means manual seats, basic audio, no tems, no cruise control etc)

They are nice cars though!

it's a 1991, the most basic model from what i know,

manual seats, basic audio, no tems, no cruise control etc

exactly like above :D

As for something to drive, i got the mr2 as well so the soarer is surplus to requirements. Being a thirsty whale, i barely drive it in the first place

i hope i don't have to sell it. Judging from the posts above, it seems it may take me quite a long time to sell... lol

i was thinking maybe 5k? i'd be happy with 6k + tho
