how hard would it be to do away with the AFM on the silvertop with this? how much would it differ from running a complete megasquirt?

I havent finished developing the daughterboard yet, but there is a new microsquirt module fresh on the market.

Reckon you could do one to suit a 2ZZGE in a02 Corolla? Is coil over plug, VVTL-i manual... Would want to be able to control fuel, spark, VVTi advance/retard and lift engagement.
If you could for that price there would probably be a good market for it in Oz and the US too...

With the 4agze you could replace the multiplex ignitor with a normal 2 channel one such as the mitsi evo1-3 ignitor.

This doesnt support vvtL-i but it is planned to be supported on ms3 when it is released.

The microsquirt only has two ignition outputs but th ms2extra code has six. I would need to check if the board needs to be modified though.

I would thing you could probably do it although haven't loked into it completely, the ms2extra has the possibility of throttle percentage vs rpm for some of the switching, not sure how you could convert that to loading etc for different rpm ranges which is how the vvti works as i think from memory that the rpmvthrottle is a single switch point where if you are past a certain rpm and use a certain throttle% its on.
Can't tell for sure at the moment tho as my laptop with all my ms programing stuff on it has shat itself and i haven't downloaded the software again yet

VVTi side of things works on load/rpm to advance/retard cam timing, lift just being triggered by hitting 6000rpm (but still subject to VVT)

Apparently at the moment Power FC or Emanage ultimate are the only options to the 2zz community for VVT & lift control

If it just requires to be switched on or off like vvt then this ecu will work with it, but if its variable then it wont be supported.

The VVT is variable (almost infinitly), the "L" is a simple switch.

Yeah, but a PFC is PnP as far as wiring goes, and is only about $1500-$1800 for the unit

Yeah I know, in a street car the power fc will be best and by far the cheapest. as it also runs the dash etc too, but was just saying there is other ecu's out there, but they probably more suited to high budget race cars etc

Ive decided to put the daughterboard on hold until the MS3 is released.

However I can fit the microsquirt module to most ecu's (provided there is physical room) with the module taking full control of the fuel and ignition and leaving the stock cpu to control idle speed, VVTLi a/c, auto trans ect. This is provided the stock cpu doesnt have safety features in place checking the ignition advance etc.

I should have a handfull of silver and blacktop 20v ecu's fitted with these modules up for sale within the next few weeks.

Note that even if I can locate a base map for your engine, the ecu's will still need to be tuned.

If you have a multiplex ignitor, support for this is planned to be added in the next firmwarwe update.
