Ignition fuse blows contiously

Postby gleem » Sun Aug 16, 2009 3:18 pm

Wired up a wasted spark set up on my rb20det, When i first tried engine cranked over fine but didnt start and then the one of the wires stared to melt on the 3 wire plug, so replaced the wire and it still wont start, every time i turn key to start the ignition fuse blows, gone through 6 fuses now. anyone on here familiar with these rb setups?

Find the short in the wiring loom is the only option.. You will just melt more wires if you don't find the cause of the problem

There is a short between a power feed and ground, or you have made a ground live. Check your wiring and see if you have put power to a ground or a ground to a power.

Replacing wires over and over again will not fix the problem.

If one of the wires melted you have wired something up wrong,
and probably buggered something.

Unplug it all and put a fuse back in and then plug stuff back in and see what thing you plug in makes the fuse blow.

And How have you wired it up?
where do the 3 wires in the 3 wire plug go?
