Postby Infinite » Wed Aug 19, 2009 7:27 pm

Clutch is nearly 5 thousand k's old!. this is also a evo 5 but would like some opinions from everyone!
i only have a pick of this side and clutch plate is currently being checked for tru-ness in auckland. as u can see the wear on the plate is un-evan... other side is worse!!!....

On the pressure plate on the top left section u can see a "launch" mark yet I! havent launched it... u can actuley feel the imprefection on the pressure plate aswell....

my flywheel!!!! "aparently it was machined" on a lathe not a mill.. looks good in the photo realy... compared to in person...

Basicly what do u people think??? what could cause this in under 5 thousand k's of driving????. The car gets driven not thrashed its not reved over 5.5k its runing 12psi.. I have one big bill for a new exeedy oe clutch and one fukt clutch to show for it... not to mention 8 months of problems thats been put down to a fukt clutch... Personaly i beleave the flywheel hasnt been machined and its eatn the clutch? or hasnt been machined smooth!

who installed it?
did they put the plate in the wrong way?
was the previous clutch really rooted? ie to score the flywheel?

looks like the flywheel surface wasnt true.

It should have been milled on a clyinder head type bed.

no idea on those, some can and have heard of that

or another thing is the clip not on the thrust bearing properly
ended up like the above as the clutch was never fully disengaged but never dragged enough to be picked up until clutch failed in a very short distance
that would also depend on the design though

also if i was "dumping" the clutch as ive been told thats what im doing and thrashing the ass off it!. wouldnt the pressure plate have alot of marks on it aswell? not just a burnt to hell flywheel with heaps of hot spots? and wouldnt the hot spots be on the pressure plate aswell?
