wheel hop

Postby avinesh » Sat Aug 29, 2009 12:49 am

yea i have the dreaded wheel hop issue.......getting subframe bushes done next week, car is a 94 supra rz manual. Just wana know what you guys think is causing it, i thought its subframe bushes coz when i shift into 5th gear or any high gear while cruising there is a thud sound from the back, so thought hmmmm could be the whole subframe that moves a little but it still handles well no unusual handling. Wheel hop is realy bad when you shift from 1st to 2nd....Has stock beilstein shocks with tein springs car didnt wheel hop with this setup before it started doing this after a while....have destroyed a diff already coz of this

Looks similar to "drift pineapples". I would imagine you'll get the same/better result by replacing the rear subframe bushes with nolathane ones.

There's a guy on here.... I think his name is Ronnie (I'm sure someone else on here will know what I'm talking about) I know he does them for MKIII supras, maybe he also does MKIV/JZZ30?

According to this thread those pineapples will also fit your car and fix the problem.

I remember reading that some times it can be the engine mounts. Are you sure these are in good condition?
