Adding injector/carby cleaner directly to carb?

Postby Rusteee » Mon Sep 14, 2009 9:32 pm

Hi there
Sorry this isn't about my toyota, but I'm just wondering, I've been told that if I add that high octane injector cleaner (fuel additive) directly into the carby it will get rid of the carbon build up on the pistons, is this true? If so is it possible to damage the engine by doing this? I have an old school Torana, and it suffers a bit of run on when hot so was thinking about giving it a go, but didn't want t risk it without asking someone who knows lol.
Cheers
