KE20 4AGTE 20v Silvertop

Postby blue_devil_21 » Sun Sep 06, 2009 7:34 pm

I’m partway thru this build and I’ve been told that I need bigger injectors. Some have said "gets some out of a supra" or "injectors from a Caldina would be sweet"

Does anyone know which engine to get the 'right' set of injectors from... if there is such a thing?

I’ve done a little bit of research online and haven’t found a lot, but found that the standard injectors in a 20v Silvertop are side-feed, and when I went into Toyota, the guy said the injector that I had in my hand was top-feed... WTF! I then went on Trademe and looked at pics of top-feed and side-feed and am pretty sure the dude at Toyota is wrong...

I’m starting to babble a bit, but can anyone here give me some helpful advice?

Cheers,
Anand

Gen I, as fitted to the ST165 are top feed and will not fit.
Gen II, (early SW20 & ST185) are 430cc Side feed injectors and will fit.
Gen III (ST205 & SW20 after Oct '93) are 540cc side feeds and will fit.
Gen IV (ST215) are top feed and will not fit.

thats abit better than i found.

anyway, how much power are you after?
rule of thumb is Hp x 6 = fuel needed.

stock 20v injectors are 295cc. total flow is 1180cc, divide by 6 = 196.6Hp (146kW) altho this doesnt take into acount the cycle rate of injectors.

Correct,

and also non-vvti 2JZGTE fit also,
so possibly 1JZGTE also,

but the 2JZGTE's are 430 jap spec and 550 USA spec.
