Apparently the way the charges were laid now means that Flavio & Symonds get away scot free. Something to do with the fact charges were only laid against Renault, not the individuals too.

So in theory Flavio could come back with another team. Doesn't seem fair really. After all the factory workers, and indeed the Renault bosses probably had no idea what was going on.
I think this will be Renaults last season, with them getting a fine or ban of some sort, Sauber are the reserve team and will get the Renault spot. Alonso to Ferrari next season (if he isn't latter charged), and Raikonen is off rallying/partying.

Something I've noticed, is that Fin names seem to end with 'nen'.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Hopefully thats the end of Fat Flav in F1, F1 will be better with out his fat moaning ass

Hmmm, slap on the wrist with a wet bus ticket for Renault, Alonso completely exonerated, Pat Symonds banned for 5yrs, Flabbio banned for life.

Looks like the FIA at it's best, fair minded, consistent punishment, and detailed investigation of the parts played by all concerned, only thing missing is the Tui Billboard :roll:

I thought the punishment was fair IMO

Fat Flav cant be involded in F1 ever again which is great

Simmons is gone for 5 years no loss, not like he had managed to do anythign great with Reanult recently, Reanult have been average ever since there dodgy mass damper was banned

I suggest you might like to take a course in reading comprehension, :roll:

If you look carefully you will note I never said anything about McLaren, just about consistency, which means punishments need to be applied equally and transparently to all cases. Saying that they couldn't levy a large fine because Renault might leave F1 is BS. How can you have fair enforcement if the people you're punishing wield a bigger stick than those metering out the penalty :?

Just so you get it I don't care what punishment any particular team gets, or has got in the past, just that the penalties are fair and consistent. That has never been the case the the FIA for as long as I can remember, it's always been about who did something not what they did. :evil:

well said, typical of FIA.
if say,a japanese or british teams do a wee naughty..... FIA throw the book at them. french or italian teams get a wet bus ticket over the wrists. No different to rallying.

But unfortantly get the definate feeling that the FIA is just like an old english boys club, where everyone has everyone else cocks up there ass's and there only real concern is looking after them selves which mean that the majority of them will vote of Jean Todt as he will be the Status Que Option

If you buy a house next to an airport expect noise if you buy a house near a race track expect noise, its pretty simple isnt it really :?

Also unfortunatly looks like Ferrari are going to jettison there best driver for Captain average Alonso (Waits for flaming about how he was a 2 time champion, when really if it wasnt for the mass damper he wouldnt have won shit as y the time it was banned in his second season he already had the title in the bag for the second time)

Issues like this irk me. They bought a house. Next to a race track. And now they're complaining about noise? There should be a fine for being so stupid.
