That's all good till someone un-insured runs into you causing thousands of dollars damage and pays you at $20 a week.
You can park the car in the garage and collect the $20 a week and fix it in 3 years time when you have all the money.

Just got my form today, I need to go to the post office to get some details of that guy. And it's $50 to file this, I better win or else I'll have to lose, twice.

Quoted for the truth,

If your car holds any significance to you, being a car forum this should ring true for most of us......

You would invest in full insurance, I dirve in Auckland traffic every day.
With the amount of idiots on the road and people who just cannot wait, to not have full cover is stupid.

It cracks me up, the last guy who hit me did not think he was to blame because the road was wet and he locked up and hit the back of my car.....

The guy does not have two brain cells to rub together to see that he's at fault for travelling too fast for the conditions.

Thats Auckland traffic for you, still feel like no insurance?

Agreed, not being racist here, but the last person to hit me was an asian woman who didn't speak a word of english. Luckily it was outside work so i ran in and got someone to translate.

The woman "wasnt at fault, because i wasnt watching so i didnt see what happened" when she went up the back of my car

WTF people!? lol.

I see about 1-5 accidents occur or have just occurred per day.

Got a call fromt he police today, they're gonna put together a picture board and then give me a call, advised to put my dispute court thing on hold while they sort out the guy, so I can just file it and it's a straight up win.

Update: when to the picture board today, identified him. Put another statement down, the constable said the police is gonna lay down some charges, but I won't hold my breath just yet.

Got another call from the police today, spoke with the other guy, the other guy now claimed he's the driver  and I was the one who hit him, and he thought it was a minor damage so he didn't stop (even though I got out of my car, screaming at him, and then he ran about 5 red lights), the cops can only give him a warning? And pretty much it's GLHF at the courts, it's it's his word against mine and I don't have any independent witnesses.

FML.

edit: fixed some english

Time for some vigilante justice!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Yea funny that, the police said he is "known to police" for "various offences", that's why the police has a mug shot of him.

Now waiting for the police to send me a letter, which is a summary of what happened, then I'll hit the small claims court.

You should ask the cops if he is affiliated to any gang, if he is go around and see one of the rival gangs, they'll collect the debt for you and enjoy doing it too. You'll get more than you would from small claims.
If he isn't gang affiliated still go see one of the gangs and ask them to collect the debt and add the collection fee onto what he owes.

I hear the Mongrel Mob are getting into debt collection in a big way lately.
You'd be surprised at who's using gangs to collect debts these days, or at least gang owned companies that are legit, and work as debt collectors.
