Problem with auto

I've got a 1991 mazda familia and it doesn't reverse when i select reverse. The car also drives forward in neutral which seems awfully weird to me. Any ideas? Electrical or tranny?

been driving it hard lately, maybe stalling it up for big launches?
sounds like your top clutch pack has burnt out- sadly, it means rebuild time.

Maybe selector is broken? Does go into Park?
