i have a 200 rs200 6spd altezza at the moment and have been looking at getting a new car, i drove a vt 5.0ltr ss holden the other day and a 2003 ba xr6. i liked the v8 it sounded nice etc but was suprisingly very slow and thirsty and the xr6 was pretty good but i am wondering what other decent 4 door cars that arent boy racer cars or to much hassel are there for the same money ( 15k - 18k ) i was offerd 13k as a trade on my altezza tho wich i thought was pretty good.

that mark 2 is nice, was kinda looking for a manual but i dont mind autos to much either if they have a fair bit of power like that would

Thank GOD wheels are easily replaced..... On all 3 counts!

I have driven a few holden ss's and also xr6's and to be honest the car that caught my interest most is the new VE commodore SV6, it makes 195 kw (more like 210 on 98 ) and its got 5 star crash rateing, a good LSD kick arse interior and looks dam staunch, they are going for around 25k atm at yards. If you liked the XR6 then you will truly be amazed how good the new gen SV6 from holden is.... seriously... drive one....

The new holdens (as is always the case with holden body kits) look like they were designed by the type of guy who would make a kit out of road markers....

Manual 5 litre SS's go well, better then GTS25T's anyway!

Buy a jap turbo. Gloria, Aristo, Chaser.

I hated my mates V8 SS Commodore, it was nice to drive a big car for change, but it sucked balls for fuel economy.... Fair enough it was a big car and had a V8, it chewed gas in town sweet, but even on the open road just cruising it was bad.

If I was going to get a Commodore, I'd be going for the new V6 ones. Got good go but with reasonable fuel economy when cruising
