It was a joke. the gt-r is marketed as AWD. It is a 4wd. Someone called it 4WD, but the car is marketed as AWD.

I corrected this person by using the marketing term, even though it is irrelevant.

Thats the joke.

Internet foruming standards should make sarcasm tags mandatory.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Ahh, so the point is that your post was missing one of these.... ...thereby rendering it pointless.

Please try not to forget it next time to save the confusion for those of us not tuned to your exact wavelength ;)

With regards to the LF-A I have seen alot of people talking about Lexus having no pedigree when it comes to building a sportscar of this nature and this could effect sales as your typical high end euro owner might think that his car might not be as good as all the hype suggests.

I was just wondering what peoples thoughts on this are.

My answer to the above is that every car if it choose's to get into this end of the market have to start somewhere so I find the above arguement unwarranted but that is just my opinion.

I say the people saying that they have no pedigree are talking out their asses, looking only to bring the hype down.

Lexus are an independant sub-brand of Toyota. But do you REALLY think that Lexus would go ahead on something like this without Toyota input on it?

All of the moto journo's that have driven this car have said its quite a good first effort from Toyota/Lexus.The big downer that most people are moaning about is the price, they are almost thinking its a every-day car that joe public can buy which is not really the truth.

Personally if I had the money I'd go with the Lexus in a heart-beat.The best review's I have seen are on that Auto-car mag clips on youtube are honest and to the point.

when talking pedigree, in that market, then yeah, Lexus have none... Some will consider that when buying, some won't.. I don't think they will have a problem selling them all.
You have to start somewhere...

When they said it was going to be mid mounted, I was under the impression that it was going to be behind the driver

Yea, but whats the first thing that pops in your head when someone says midmount? If you tell me that the engine is anywhere between the front and rear strut towers, you're telling dirty lies :P

NO! When you're told midmount, you think things like MR2's, NSX's, Ferrari's (Well, the good ones anyway) and Lamborghini's!
