I'd take the Porsche GT3/GT3 RS anyday over this.
Just imagine what the Top Gear "cockometer" would do if oyu drove past in this car

I do like the GT3.

I love the response of the GT3 cup car's engine, Just tap the throttle and its hitting redline.

Havent been in a GT3 yet, Did get offered a ride, as my old work sponsered a cup car.

But have been around Pukekohe in the V8 M3 with Mike Eady, The car was standard, Still an amazing car, So I can only imagne what the GTS will be like.

Needs a foot of wheel arch flair on each side.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

They got to be kidding, BMW M3 is not in the same league as Porsche GT3.
It will never be. It is a gimmick compare to Porsche.

Did you read the article about what they did to it?
This to me harks back to the E30 evo's, you know back when M3s were good! :P

A little bit more power than the GT3, but what is REALLY cool about the GT3, is that it makes 100KW per litre ;)

Revhead, ur my hero for mentioning the e30 m3's, there are like the dirty mistress in the closet... such awesum cars, I would take a facelift 2.3ltr e30m3 over pretty much any modern car, so hawt, 8000rpm and 200hp, the type R of their time but with real pedigree

Have you driven an M3 or Porsche?
I have been lucky to drive both E46 M3 and Carrera 4S (yes not GT3).
I would take Carrera over M3 any day.

If you seriously think that modern Porsche is just supped up beetle, you are delusional.

you guys should remember that this is a recently released model... as such no one has driven it yet!
i am sure that if its aimed at the GT3, it will be pretty close to it.
either way, I don't care as I will prob never be able to afford one!
but if i could, i'd get both :P

I have never driven a gt3, however i have driven both a 997 turbo and a current model RS4 and I can say that both are truly amazing cars, although I have to say that the turbo actually felt TOO fast for the road, now I know many people would say thats just being a pussy but honestly for most of us as revhead said we will never own/drive one, having driven one I would say that any m3 or similar car or modern porsche would be absolutly amazing to own even if it was JUST an M3 or JUST a normal Carrera, in saying that tho, I have to agree with some points on here, I would be surprised if an m3 could be made to compete with a gt3 as the porsche is from the outset such a more focused and less compromised car.

* also im sorry if any of that didnt make sence, i just finished my last exam and my brain feels funny

My mum used to have a '77 911. God that thing was awesome. 2.7l N/A sounded so horny.

If you think a Porsche is better than a BMW I belive that you are delusional

Apart from there Formula 1 team BMW don't often $&#$% up if theya re building a race prepared vechile so if they say it will be a rival to the Gt3 I would well belive it

I am sure that there will review or comparsion of the 2 on the web shortly, and I hope the BMW hands the VWs its ass

End of the day though front engine rwd will always beat a rear engined rwd IMO for sheer drivng fun

So have you driven representation of each? I assume you have driven BMW, if you stand behind them so much.
Or you based your opinions on someone else's?
BMW is average in my personal experience. Better than VW. But still average. Even high end BMW is not exceptionally well built these days.
"A" Porsche always be better than "a" BMW. BMW is mass produced commoner, while Porsche is something very different.

While question being asked about Clarkson & Hammond - they are spoiled brats.
