lightbulb question

Postby ihavelift » Mon Nov 16, 2009 4:33 pm

Hey just wondering what sort of lightbulb this is:

is it an HB4?

Also, any ideas on where I can get some bright white/blue bulbs in auckland? (legal, of course).

Cheers

Possibly an H4 headlight bulb?

Where did you remove it from? Usually the bulb type is stamped on it or the base of it somewhere.

Not an H4, wrong plug for that, HB4 sounds about right, try repco, or even ebay, thats where I found some in the past.

Spin it around so we can see the contacts inside the plug, possibly HB4 but could be a few others.

If it came out of your Celica, it's an HB4 also called a 9006. The High beams use the HB3 bulb also called the 9005.

If you have trouble finding bulbs, check out http://www.powerbulbs.com, they've got free international shipping and you get free w5w bulbs (park lights) with most orders. I got Philips BlueVision bulbs from them years ago - they're a nice white light (not the fake blue look the cheap supercheap bulbs have), good illumination and are still going strong.

Remember when you put them in not to touch the glass part of the bulbs - the oils on your skin don't play nice with the bulb once it gets hot :)
